Job Overview:
NorthBay Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Certified Kubernetes Engineer with strong hands-on experience in AWS, container orchestration, and DevOps tools and processes. This role involves managing containerized applications at scale, automating infrastructure, and supporting CI/CD pipelines in a cloud-native environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable Kubernetes clusters (EKS preferred).
Automate infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch).
Troubleshoot and resolve performance, security, and reliability issues in production environments.
Collaborate with cloud architects and development teams to implement DevOps best practices.
Ensure compliance with security and infrastructure governance policies.
Work closely with U.S.-based teams in overlapping time zones.
Must-Have Qualifications:
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent certification.
5+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and containerization (Docker).
Strong expertise with AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, EKS, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, etc.).
Proven knowledge of DevOps tools: Terraform, Jenkins, GitOps, Helm, etc.
Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, VPNs, and DNS in cloud environments.
Experience with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Go.
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in distributed systems.
Excellent communication skills and comfort working with remote U.S.-based teams.
Nice to Have:
Experience with GitOps tools like ArgoCD or Flux.
Exposure to service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
Familiarity with cost optimization and FinOps practices on AWS.
AWS certifications (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect Associate/Pro).
