Job Overview:

NorthBay Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Certified Kubernetes Engineer with strong hands-on experience in AWS, container orchestration, and DevOps tools and processes. This role involves managing containerized applications at scale, automating infrastructure, and supporting CI/CD pipelines in a cloud-native environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable Kubernetes clusters (EKS preferred).

• Automate infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.

• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch).

• Troubleshoot and resolve performance, security, and reliability issues in production environments.

• Collaborate with cloud architects and development teams to implement DevOps best practices.

• Ensure compliance with security and infrastructure governance policies.

• Work closely with U.S.-based teams in overlapping time zones.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent certification.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and containerization (Docker).

• Strong expertise with AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, EKS, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, etc.).

• Proven knowledge of DevOps tools: Terraform, Jenkins, GitOps, Helm, etc.

• Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, VPNs, and DNS in cloud environments.

• Experience with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Go.

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in distributed systems.

• Excellent communication skills and comfort working with remote U.S.-based teams.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with GitOps tools like ArgoCD or Flux.

• Exposure to service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).

• Familiarity with cost optimization and FinOps practices on AWS.

• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect Associate/Pro).
